This is the first proper piece I completed in a series of mosaic-like torn and reassembled paintings. By destroying the completed painting I can then bring it back to life with significantly more meaning inserted into every break and crack. Because of the nature of tiny pieces of paper stuck together this way the painting will literally change, flex and move slightly depending on the air temperature, humidity, and climate. The painting could look different in Spring than it does in Fall. The process allows the painting to live more than ever could before.
